Self-Care Tips For Winter

As we move into the colder winter months we often forget to prioritise our mental and physical health. It is important to not take this. In this blog we will explore 5 ways to take care of yourself this winter.

1. Go Outside

As the weather gets colder and colder we tend to stay inside and forget that touching grass or breathing fresh air into our lungs can be such a good mood booster even if it’s just for a few minutes a day. By going fora walk outside will bring brightness to a gloomy day.

2. Keep a Gratitude Journal

While we continue to fill our cups and glorify those summer days…. it can become so easy to neglect what is in front of us that brings such joy to an otherwise rainy, cold, and cloudywinter. By setting aside 5 minutes per day or week to write in a journal about the things we are grateful for, this activity can be so basic as “I am grateful for my family, for the clothes on my body to keep me warm or to be grateful for the food on our tables”, but so impactful toremember the little thingsthat give us purpose.

3. Hydrate

Water, the simplest way to stay healthy and refreshed. When you’re hydrated your brain finds it easier to function and promotes a positive outlook. Just one more thing to be grateful for, add that to your journal.

4. Treat Yourself

Sometimes splurging a little on yourself can bring such joy. When you show yourself value you feel a little better about yourself. Whether it be a pair of shoes you have been eyeing for along time or splurging on that new work computer because the old one is way too slow, it brings joy to you and can be justified as self-care. Finding thebudgetto treat yourself can be challenging but when you have the right goal in mind of becoming a better you and treating yourself is part of that, then consideringapplying for a online loancan be so beneficial to your growth.

5. Move Your Body

Moving your body does not need to be some crazy crossfit or running in the rain, but simply put when your body is moving your mind is moving. So getting up and walking around your house or practising some mindful stretching especially as your limbs tense up to stay warm is so good for the mind and body.

Conclusion

The winter months can be tough on your body and your mind, but taking a moment everyday to prioritise yourself is a must!
